Step 1 – Tag Style
  • Choose "Format 06" if your parts are integral to a military contract.
  • Choose "Format 12" if your parts are integral to a commercial aerospace industry contract (ATA Spec 2000).

  • Select Construct 1 if each label contains a unique serial number.

    Example:

    You manufacture parts named "PART NO1" and "PART NO2" then a serial number used for "PART NO1" cannot be used on "PART NO2" or any other part. With Construct 1 every part manufactured has a unique serial

  • Select Construct 2 if serialization is within the part number.

    Example:

    number. Serial numbers will never be repeated within the enterprise. You manufacture parts named "PART NO1"and "PART NO2" then the same serial number could be used on both "PART NO1" and "PART NO2" With Construct 2 there are unique serial numbers for each part number but a serial number may be repeated elsewhere within the enterprise if it is associated with a different part.
